Product Description

Nature Therapie Sprouted Ragi Flour

Ragi or finger millet is  higher in protein and minerals than all other cereals and millets. It is a remarkable source of protein, making it perfect for vegetarian diets. Our natural process of sprouting, drying and milling ensures that the grain remains whole, meaning it includes the bran, which contains most of the vitamins, minerals, fiber and phytochemicals found in intact whole grains.

Benefits of Sprouted Ragi Flour/Sprouted Nachni Flour

Also known as finger millet, Ragi  a high amino profile (protein) and is a rich source of minerals like calcium, iron, phosphorus, magesium, potassium, silicon and B vitamins, especially niacin. Ragi has a soothing alkaline nature.  Its alkaline reaction promotes easy digestion and it is rarely allergenic or irritating to sensitive people. It is also helpful to overcome diarrhea and vomiting during illness.

Gluten  Free

Ragi is gluten-free and therefore an excellent option for anyone who is looking for a wheat and gluten-free grain. It contains phytochemicals such as lignans, phenolic acids, and phytosterols. The phytochemicals in whole grains lower cholesterol, help prevent colon cancer, aid in elimination, improve insulin sensitivity, and act as an energy source.

Boon for Diabetics

Regular consumption of finger millet is known to reduce the risk of diabetes mellitus and gastrointestinal tract disorders and these properties are attributed to its high polyphenol and dietary fiber content. According to research Finger Millet based diets help diabetics as they contain higher amounts of fiber over other cereals and millets. Diets based on whole finger millet have a lower glycemic response i.e. lower ability to increase blood sugar level. This has been attributed to presence of certain factors in ragi flour which lower digestibility and absorption of starch.

Increased Bioavailability of Micronutrients

The natural process of making our atta increases the concentration of antioxidants, Vitamins C, B and carotene.  This in turn helps in the absorption of calcium, magnesium, iron, copper and zinc during digestion. It also enhances the hydrolysis of phytic acid, an enzyme inhibitor, which allows for better absorption of nutrients.
